KA 107 ACTION

The International Credit Mobility action – Erasmus+ KA 107

The KA107 action is a tool for the implementation of the Internationalization Strategies of the University of Pisa, also in line with the objectives of the Europe 2020 Agenda.

Main objectives:

  • Increase the number and quality of international students enrolled in the courses offered by UNIPI;
  • Increase the number of students in mobility, by attracting international students and encouraging the outgoing mobility of students enrolled at UNIPI;
  • Increase the number of courses taught by foreign professors;
  • Increase the number of courses available in English;
  • Support UNIPI professor’s performance in high-level training activities abroad.

In order to participate in the Erasmus + Program, an essential requirement is the possession of the ECHE Card (ERASMUS CHARTER FOR HIGHER EDUCATION). UNIPI received the Erasmus + Chart in 2014, since then it has committed itself to respecting the fundamental principles of European programs and their values. The eligible countries are divided into two groups: the countries participating in the program and the partner countries. While the program countries can participate in all actions of the Erasmus + program, the partner counties can only take part in some of them and they are subject to specific conditions.

Every year the European Commission publishes a call in October in which are indicated the priorities of the program and the available funding. Higher Education Institutions can participate by submitting a single University application.

The University of Pisa presents its application on the basis of the declarations of interest received from professors of different departments and on the basis of previous experiences of cooperation.

The applications of the different Universities are evaluated by the National Erasmus + INDIRE Agency according to the criteria established by the European Commission and common to all of the National Agencies of the Countries participating in the program. If the application is approved, the organization becomes an Erasmus + beneficiary. It will receive the agreement with all its attachments, the pre-financing and it will be able to start the project activities.

Once the agreement has been signed, the Partner is promptly informed and the Inter-Institutional Agreement is signed. IIA describes the mobility activity that will be carried out, indicating the number of students, teachers, staff, subject areas and the duration of the mobility. Without this agreement it is not possible to carry out the Erasmus+ mobility project. The agreement must be filled, signed, stamped and dated by both institutions. On the basis of specific calls, students and staff will be selected for mobility.
